Hello ! My name is Sam Folcarelli and I am an award-winning artist originally from Teeside, but now based in north Northumberland.
Although mainly known for my animal paintings, I also paint and make lots of other things, including needle felting, spinning, collage and papier mache, to name but a few !

Workshop Details
Content: After an introduction to some basic watercolour techniques, we will spend the morning learning different ways to paint sea / water and small buildings / structures e.g. lighthouses. We shall also look at how to plan your drawing for a final painting and spend the afternoon creating these. We shall concentrate on things like the importance of depth and light in your picture to make it feel more 3-dimensional.
Materials: you will be supplied with all of the required materials including paint, paper, brushes, and a mount pack in order to complete you final A3 piece.

Additional Information: IF YOU HAVE A PHOTOGRAPH OF A PLACE THAT YOU ALREADY KNOW YOU’D LOVE TO RECREATE, please bring that with you to use during the day.
Tea and coffee is provided but you will need to bring a packed lunch or treat yourself with something delicious from Carmichael’s next door ! You may also find it helpful to have a device upon which to view an image eg iPad / phone etc. and to bring an old shirt or apron to protect your clothes.
