Stjarna Smucks - Slipper Socks Kit
The Stjarna Smucks slipper socks by Alison Rendall @fair_isle_knitting Patron of Shetland Wool Week 2023, are a really lovely project using scrumptious Jamieson's of Shetland Aran
Alison says,
"Shetland Winters are long and hard but one of the benefits are truly dark night skies with very little light pollution in the rural areas. A clear, frosty night provides spectacular views of the constellations, planets and the Milky Way. You might also be lucky enough to see the “Mirrie Dancers”, the Shetland word for the Northern Lights. The Stjarna smucks design is loosely based on the winter stars, as they join up to form a pattern."
Smuck is a Shetland word for Slipper
The sample on the pattern photo was knitted with a 3.00mm needle for the body and a 2.5mm for the rib, gauge is 26 stitches and 26 rounds to 10cm after blocking
The kit contains 3 balls of Shetland Heather, a printed pattern booklet, in an organza bag
